Make your own dragonfly resin art with this easy to use kit.
This set of 3D printed parts is designed to used with epoxy resin. The artist can use the window film (supplied) to transfer an iridescent pattern to the wings, while the body can be colored with their favorite color. It is intended that the artist stick the wings to the window film with a small amount of resin and let it cure prior to filling them. Similarly, for the body it is also required to stick the pattern to a plastic sheet (not supplied) prior to pouring resin into the different areas creating beautiful personalized patterns. Both the wings and body can be peeled off their backing sheets once cured. A small amount of resin should then be used to assemble the dragonfly artwork.
It is intended that the pattern remain a permanent part of the finished piece. The pattern can also be permanently fixed to a canvas, mirror or other substrate as the artist decides.
The completed dragonfly is 9 inches long and 12 inches across and 1/16" thick giving enough depth of resin to be self supporting.
Please note the following -
Different resins cure to different hardness levels and we recommend choosing a resin that cures on the harder side to avoid any potential drooping.
If placing the dragonfly in a window please be aware that heat will soften your resin and may distort the dragonfly.
Sizes are approximate as there is some shrinkage when the part is removed from the printer and the final length and width depend on the wing placement. It is produced from metallic copper PLA.
We try to make the pattern as robust as possible by using high quality PLA material and through careful design. However, please note that it has to be a thin walled part to leave some space for you to add color and therefore may be damaged if not handled carefully.
Please Note - Price is for the 3D printed parts only. Canvases, boards, resin and paint etc not supplied
